Yummy Chocolate Chip Bars

So, I had to make/bake something for a bake sale for work.  I am already planing to make funfetti cupcakes, but feel like that's cheating since its not home made.  And after baking 20 loaves of Easter Bread this past weekend, I felt inspired.  Using a combination of recipes and my own acute sense of taste and smell, I found an easy and delicious recipe for these chocolate chip wanna be cookie bars.

Ingredients:

1 1/4 cup Nestle semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup butter, softened
1 egg
2 cups all purpose flour
pinch (1/4 tsp) salt
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract

Pre heat the oven to 375.

In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, egg, vanilla and brown sugar until creamy.  Then, slowly add in the salt and flour, and beat until smooth.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour batter into a non-greased 9x13 baking sheet with edges (I used a glass pyrex one and it worked great).
Bake for 20 min-24 min until lightly golden brown on top.

Take it out when it looks like......this!

Enjoy!!
